The Quantlet’s Protocols

The Quantlet is designed to be used ONCE daily. For ideal performance, however, we recommend alternating the wrist on which the device is worn every day, so that it’s one arm one day and the other the next day.

P30 or Performance 30 Protocol

The P30 Performance 30 Protocol is designed to help individuals increase their exercise performance from the first 10 days of its use. It does so by stimulating blood through the device’s photobiomodulation capabilities and by cooling the blood through the removal of excess body heat through the device’s cooling plate.

It can also be used for energizing the body and enhancing mental alertness after waking or when experiencing symptoms of fatigue, brain fog or general lethargy.

This protocol is the default protocol for use of the Quantlet in Manual Mode.

The device is designed to be water-resistant (but not waterproof) and carry an IP rating similar to that of other ruggedized devices. It’s important to highlight, though, that the device is currently meant to be worn before exercise, between sets and/or after workouts. We are conducting extensive testing to ensure we understand precisely how the device will enhance exercise during workouts.

Recommended Usage Strategy:

  • Use this protocol for the first two weeks of daily usage of the Quantlet and then move to P60 if well tolerated
  • Begin protocol 15-20 minutes prior to exercise
  • In order to avoid negatively affecting sleep, this protocol is only recommended for daytime use
  • Ensure the rubber plug covers the USB charging port if using during exercise. Failure to do so will void the product warranty

P60 or Performance 60 Protocol

The P60 Performance 60 Protocol is designed to help individuals increase their exercise performance after the first 10 days of use in P30 or Performance 30. It does so by stimulating blood through the device’s photobiomodulation capabilities and by cooling the blood through the removal of excess body heat through the device’s cooling plate.

It can also be used for energizing the body and enhancing mental alertness after waking or when experiencing symptoms of fatigue, brain fog or general lethargy.

The Wellness Protocol is designed to help individuals improve their overall wellbeing and especially address homeostasis. It does so by stimulating blood through the device’s photobiomodulation capabilities.

It can also be used for energizing the body and enhancing mental alertness after waking or when experiencing symptoms of fatigue, brain fog or general lethargy.

The device is designed to be water-resistant (but not waterproof) and carry an IP rating similar to that of other ruggedized devices. Sleep / Relax

The Sleep / Relax Protocol is designed to help individuals improve their overall relaxation and sleep, as well as aid in restoring the body’s homeostasis. It does so by stimulating blood through the device’s photobiomodulation capabilities.

Recommended Usage Strategy:

  • Use this protocol and at least 3 hours prior to bedtime
  • In order to avoid negatively affecting sleep, this protocol is only recommended for use before sunset
Daytime Use Only

Jetlag

The Jetlag Protocol is designed to help individuals re-entrain to their sleep/wake cycle when traveling across time zones, for example. It does so by stimulating blood and skin receptors using certain frequencies of light pulsed at a specific rate that acts to re-entrain the body to brainwave frequencies of wakefulness and mental alertness.

It can also be used for energizing the body and enhancing mental alertness after waking or when experiencing symptoms of fatigue, brain fog or general lethargy.

Recommended Usage Strategy:

  • Use this protocol sporadically
  • In order to avoid negatively affecting sleep, this protocol is only recommended for early daytime use

Muscle Activation

The Muscle Activation protocol is designed to help individuals increase their exercise performance by irradiating certain muscles prior to exercise. It does so by stimulating blood and muscle tissue directly through the device’s photobiomodulation capabilities.

Recommended Usage Strategy:

  • Hold the Quantlet’s top lighting module against the muscle(s) intended to be treated bilaterally (on both sides of the body) at least 5 minutes prior to exercise
  • 1 to 3 minutes between muscle groups is enough to generate a stimulus
  • Ensure the rubber plug covers the USB charging port if using during exercise. Failure to do so will void the product warranty

Spot Treatment

The Spot Treatment protocol is designed to treat skin/surface areas. It does so by stimulating skin, blood and muscle tissue directly through the device’s photobiomodulation capabilities.

Recommended Usage Strategy:

  • Hold the Quantlet’s top lighting module against the spot(s) intended to be treated for at least 5 minutes
  • 1 to 3 minutes is enough to generate a stimulus

Custom Protocols

The Custom protocols allow users to enter their own protocol parameters to replicate settings used in published studies or to simply experiment and ‘biohack’.

Users can select protocol duration, use of the cooling plate (TEC on or off), light frequency (color), light intensity and pulse rate or frequency (Hz).
